AOA Christmas Apprentice Meet-Up 2025: Event Highlights

The Association of Apprentices held its annual Christmas Apprentice Meet-Up at the Keyworth Centre, London South Bank University, bringing together apprentices from across the UK for an evening of networking, insight and community.
Networking & Welcome
The event opened with an hour of informal networking, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with peers from a wide range of sectors. The Keyworth Centre proved to be an ideal setting, offering a modern and engaging environment for conversation.

Panel Discussion: Key Themes & Insights
Following introductions from Annabelle Trotter (LSBU Group apprenticeships), Emily Rock (CEO, AoA) and Rachel Kayes (AoA Community Manager). The main event featured four panellists who shared their personal journeys, practical advice and reflections on professional development.
Maya Patel; AoA Council Member & Azure Cloud Specialist Apprentice, AQA
Maya highlighted the wide range of AoA support platforms, including AoA Connect, AoA Learn, AoA On Demand, AoA Events and the PARS recognition scheme – while emphasising the importance of building networks, trying new opportunities and developing a personal brand. Her message focused on confidence through action and taking ownership of career growth.
Umara Ramzan; Chartered Manager Degree Apprentice
Umara discussed her progression from feeling “unaccomplished” to becoming established. She spoke about challenging bias, navigating early career roles and the resilience required to succeed.
Anita Tien; Founder of Crescent City Properties & Former BlackRock Apprentice
Anita delivered a candid account of setbacks she faced, including a rental scam and the lessons these experiences taught her. Her three key messages were: success does not require permission, the value of asking good questions, and the importance of clarity over unfocused action.
Micha Reynolds; ADHD Coach & Founder, Bee Inspired Coaching
Micha explored emotional intelligence, emotional resilience and neurodiversity in the workplace. Through practical strategies and an engaging presentation, she outlined ways to manage burnout and maintain healthy emotional habits particularly for those with ADHD.
Closing & Networking
The evening concluded with further networking, refreshments and opportunities for attendees to engage with the speakers. The atmosphere remained positive and collaborative, with many participants continuing conversations sparked during the panel.
