We are incredibly proud to share that Ginger Nut Training has been named Apprenticeship Champion of the Year at the 2026 Inspirational Youth Awards.
The Inspirational Youth Awards are a national celebration recognising young people, organisations and projects that are making a meaningful difference — highlighting resilience, talent and positive impact across communities. To be recognised among such inspiring individuals and organisations is something we are extremely grateful for.

Grace McDougall: Our Star of the Night

A very special highlight for us was seeing our own apprentice, Grace McDougall, shortlisted in the Apprentice of the Year category — despite having only been on the programme for a short time. Grace’s journey, commitment and voice perfectly capture what apprenticeships can achieve when the right support is in place.
Grace’s recognition was central to our nomination and to our being honoured with the Apprenticeship Champion award. Her achievements are a reflection of her resilience and talent, and we couldn’t be prouder of her.

Celebrating Young Changemakers

The evening was a reminder of just how many young people across the UK are driving change. A huge well done to all the young people recognised on the night, and in particular to the incredible #WeWiLL Youth Social Action Project, who rightly picked up Youth Project of the Year.
Events like the Inspirational Youth Awards shine an important light on youth leadership, social action and the power of opportunity when communities come together to support the next generation.

Thanks to the Sponsors and Organisers

The event was made possible thanks to the generosity and commitment of sponsors including:
  • South & City College Birmingham
  • Punch Records
  • The Young Leaders Club
— all organisations that share a clear commitment to empowering young people and supporting pathways into education, skills and employment.
We would also like to extend our thanks to the organisers Ifraz Ahmed, Anita Chumber, and Pat Carvalho for creating a platform that genuinely celebrates youth achievement and amplifies voices that deserve to be heard.

Looking Ahead

Winning Apprenticeship Champion of the Year is a proud moment for Ginger Nut Training, but it is also a responsibility. It reinforces our commitment to putting learners at the centre of everything we do — championing accessibility, inclusion and real opportunity through apprenticeships.
To our staff, clients, partners and learners: thank you. This award belongs to you as much as it does to us.
