The Founder

Provides overarching stewardship of Ginger Nut Training’s mission, values, and long‑term direction. Offers high‑level challenge and support to the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring the organisation’s strategic decisions uphold its founding principles and deliver strong outcomes for learners and employers. Contributes to governance through oversight of culture, safeguarding expectations, inclusion, and organisational resilience. Supports the Advisory Governors Board and Audit & Risk Committee by providing historical context, continuity, and independent perspective on organisational improvement and future planning.

Harry Simpson

Director

Leads long‑term organisational planning, digital and technology strategy, and innovation in apprenticeship delivery. Oversees employer engagement, client relationships, and commercial growth. Responsible for ensuring programmes remain aligned to industry needs and support strong employer satisfaction and progression outcomes.

Dan Williams

Director

Responsible for overall strategic direction and governance of the organisation. Leads DfE compliance, financial oversight, legal responsibility, and the quality of apprenticeship provision. Ensures Ofsted readiness and drives continuous improvement across curriculum, delivery, and learner outcomes. Provides strategic leadership for brand, marketing, and organisational reputation.

Tanya Murphy

Centre Manager

Leads day‑to‑day operations of the training centre, including delivery staff, administration, and learner support. Ensures high‑quality teaching, learning, and assessment, and monitors performance against KPIs. Oversees safeguarding practice across the organisation, ensuring that statutory responsibilities are met and embedded throughout delivery.

Role of the Advisory Governor Board in Apprenticeship Training

Our Advisory Governor Board ensures our apprenticeship programmes are top-notch and industry-relevant, adhering to recommendations from the Department for Education (DfE) and Ofsted

Areas of Oversight:

  • Strategic Direction: Guiding long-term goals and direction.
  • Quality Assurance: Supervising effective quality practices, including planning, assurance, control, and continuous improvement to maintain high training standards.
  • Industry Alignment: Ensuring training remains aligned with job market demands.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitating connections with employers and the community.
  • Finance Management: Overseeing efficient management of funds to support training and development.
  • Compliance and Governance: Monitoring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements for smooth operations.
  • Safeguarding: Protecting the welfare of apprentices and ensuring a safe learning environment.
