Phil Warnock

The Founder

As founder of the business, Phil is closely involved in overall strategy and direction of GNT. He is also a board member of the AELP, an ambassador for the national apprenticeship scheme, and sits on the creative and design route panel for the IfATE. He is also a UCAS council member.

Phil continues to work with young people in other roles, as a STEM ambassador, as well as a commercial and personal mentor for the Prince’s Trust.

Harry Simpson

Director

Harry is responsible for managing key accounts and leads across the customer engagement and administration teams. He works closely with all parts of the business to ensure that our clients and learners receive the best possible experience, are kept informed of progress and are updated throughout.

Dan Williams

Director

Dan is the director responsible for Compliance and Quality across the business working closely with our teams to ensure that we deliver the best possible outcomes while following all funding rules closely.  He is Service Manager for our IT and Data delivery, working with tutors and clients to ensure our learners progress as planned in their training and resolve any issues.

Tanya Murphy

Centre Manager

Tanya is responsible for managing our team of tutors and the entire centre and has over 15 years’ experience in
apprenticeship delivery. She quality assures the training we provide and liaises external quality
assurers and apprenticeship awarding’ bodies to ensure we remain at the forefront of apprenticeship delivery. 

She works closely with the employer engagement team to develop training around the needs of our clients.

Role of the Advisory Governor Board in Apprenticeship Training

Our Advisory Governor Board ensures our apprenticeship programmes are top-notch and industry-relevant, adhering to recommendations from both the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and Ofsted.

Areas of Oversight:

  • Strategic Direction: Guiding long-term goals and direction.
  • Quality Assurance: Supervising effective quality practices, including planning, assurance, control, and continuous improvement to maintain high training standards.
  • Industry Alignment: Ensuring training remains aligned with job market demands.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitating connections with employers and the community.
  • Finance Management: Overseeing efficient management of funds to support training and development.
  • Compliance and Governance: Monitoring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements for smooth operations.
  • Safeguarding: Protecting the welfare of apprentices and ensuring a safe learning environment.

Helen is a seasoned HR professional with a robust background in employee relations, coaching, and training. Helen has experience managing all HR functions, including employee relations, learning and development, employee engagement, recruitment, and promoting equality and diversity. Her previous roles include Head of People at Estyn and Senior Adviser at Acas, where she provided training on employment law and employee relations, and Senior HR Adviser at AdviserPlus, offering tailored HR advice to senior managers. Helen also has experience advising SMEs on HR matters and managing HR, payroll, finance, operations, and IT at large medical practices
Paul Butler

Paul Butler

Head of Business Development (FE & Skills), Anglia Ruskin University.

Paul sits on a number of governing bodies within FE and skills. He has worked on every side of the skills agenda, having been a senior manager within employers, providers and funding, planning and commissioning bodies. Paul has also been a skills consultant, working on high profile projects.
Paul currently works at ARU working on Writtle College apprenticeship integration and development post-merger.
